Balemtimes Day

Happy "Balemtimes Day" from Miss Rylee, and Taya!
Rylee got a little My Pony from us and Taya got a Ball! Its so funny to see how different they already are from eachother. Rylees been combing the mane of her pony all morning and Tays been dragging around her ball. They each got a balloon too. That was something I always remember my dad giving me when I was younger so I wanted to keep up the "tradition." Derek got me roses and actually tried getting me a card this year :) usually he writes all his love notes/cards on sticky notes. He got one of those singing cards this year and when he gave it to me it wouldnt sing. Ha poor guy, he said thats why he sticks with sticky notes, they always work :)! Either way he's catching on pretty well to this "romantical" stuff!

Then me and Ry had to make our Heart shaped breakfast. Doolishish!

And last but not least we got to open our Valentines package from Bonka Judy and Papa! They even gave me and Derek valentines, ha they kill me. They were straight old school valentine cards like the ones ya get in elementary. I loved it!  Overall a lovely Love day it was!

Temporary Home

My sister sent me the link to the music video of Carrie Underwoods song (the one thats playing now on my blog), Temporary Home. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_SR3BlsmH4 As I watched the beginning of it I just thought hmm, this is a pretty song, but as I listened to the last verse, the tears started to fall. The last visit we took down to Ephraim, my Dad said one thing to me the whole weekend that made any sense. I miss him everyday. I miss his terrible jokes he'd tell then laugh at himself. I miss the way he always knew what to say to comfort me during hard times in life. I miss feeling his hands place upon my head to give me a priesthood blessing. I miss him blinking both eyes at me from across the dinner table, it was a funny way you could tell he was trying to say I love you. I miss him coming out of his room in an outfit asking us if it matched (usually it barely passed). I miss going on walks with him and never being able to go more then a block without him stopping to tell me about a tree, or to pull a weed. I miss coming home to he and my mom gardening. I'm thankful for the gentle reminder this song gave me tonight, that our home in this world is just temporary. That wonderful things are waiting on the other side for us if we live right, and I believe without a doubt in my mind that my Dad has lived right.

With a lot of help from my older sister, he brought roses to my house after I had Taya. I still remember the spirit feeling so strong as he came into our home. I had a new baby straight from heaven and I could feel the distinct impression that he was also very close to the vail. Having Taya and him in the same room, both so close to heaven is a memory I'll cherish forever.

B-A-L-L

Who woulda known that a simple round object called a ball, could bring so much pure joy to a little girl. Minus the fact she's a girl, she's a clone of Derek in pretty much every way so I guess the fact that she loves something she can throw and catch, is just one more way she's like him.

This would be her telling me no no no. she's getting pretty feisty already!
Me, A ball that cost one dollar, and my boog equaled the perfect way to spend our lazy sunday afternoon while Rylee napped. I love watching this little girl grow and develop into her own little person. I love her beautiful dark dark eyes, I love her pretty light olive skin, I love her 3 funny little teeth, I love her scrunch face, I love listening to her try and talk, I love when she gives me kisses, I love when she gives me strawberries on my arm and then laughs, I love how tickelish she is...basically I just love this little girl. Still don't know just what it was I ever did to deserve our 2 beautiful girls in my life, but I sure am glad that I have them!

a job...YAY!

This past week we've had the blessing and relief of Derek starting shifts back at Wal-mart. Between working full time there, and being busy with school and clinicals, us girlies at home are really missing him! Although it was stressful not having an income for the first month we were here, we had so much time to relax and play together. We had time to have friends over to play and for dinner. I had time to do hair and have Derek watch the girls. We had time to watch red box movies...mostley stupid ones but still movies = snuggle time and snuggle time = happy me. We had time to go on walks and just enjoy eachother! I didn't see it as a blessing at the time cause I was too worried about if he was going to have a job. Now I'm kicking myself for not just relaxing and trusting everything would work out! Anyway I'm now back to being a "single mom" by day and a happy wife come 11 or 12am when Derek walks through the doors after work. I talk his ear off for at least 30 min when he gets home cause I'm so excited for another adult to talk to! :) I'm SO grateful for him and his desire to provide and work hard for us. Although being a stay at home mom is the hardest job I'll ever have, I wouldn't trade it for the world and I'm so glad Derek makes it possible for me to stay home. I have the joy of being smouthered with hugs and kisses from these 2 awesome funny little girls all day and I know thats something I'm lucky to have!
Rylee is well...Rylee. :) She keeps me on my toes all day with the funny and off the wall things she says! She's a smart, fiesty little thing, we're just working on reining in her "hott headedness" a little right now. Ha I know right, how'd she end up a hott head with me and Derek as her parents, sheesh!? Anyway her and Taya usually play pretty good, I really hope they get along better and better as they grow up. At least once a day I'll hear Rylee yell to me, "MOM, Tayas in my space.!" and before I know it she'll be yelling, "MOM, Tayas wearing my clothes!" :)Taya has been quite the little grump trying to get those awesome chompers through...but FINALLY as you can see they're in! YAY! now she just has one more top one to go and then hopefully for a little while she's be back to her happy boog self! PS I love that both of their noses crinkle when they smile, mine does the same thing!
