Alright so here's the story of how our "Surprise Honeymoon" came together. It started in January while I was in Colorado doing hair when I started wishing we could go on a trip together. I realized it was almost tax return time and since it was sooo cold I was craving a warm sunny place to run away to! I started talking to Judy (my awesome other mom) and the more we talked the more I realized I could actually get a trip together, and do it as a surprise for Derek. He already had his passport so when I got home from doing hair I went and ordered mine and paid cash for it so he'd never know. I had it mailed to my moms house cause he's the one that gets our mail...that was the first of many sneaky days to come!:) Once I filed our taxes I found the best deal on a 5 night cruise to Cabo San Lucas Mexico, called Judy and we booked it. She paid for it first so Derek wouldn't see the money leave our account until we had left on the cruise! That was only the first of all the help she gave me to do this! There were tons of times in the month before the cruise that I almost spilled the beans. While he was at work I filled out cruise document forms, and when he was home I ran errands so I could talk to his boss and get him the days off. She was so awesome to help me keep it secret, his whole work knew about it and they all hid the schedule from him and made him think that Brittany just hadn't gotten the new schedule for March out yet. All of our friends and family knew, and everyone was amazing and kept the secret! When the big day came for us to leave I had our bags packed and everything ready to go when he got home from work. I set up a scavenger hunt that started at the front door and led to the cruise boarding passes. As soon as he opened the door though and saw me and Judy inside Rylee yells out, you're going on a date...you're going on a CRUISE! He looked all confused so I still made him go on the hunt. (scavenger hunts are a Blauer thing...I couldn't resist!) It was so fun when he found the last clue and opened the envelope with our passes and realized Rylee really was serious and that we were leaving right then! I was giddy when I knew he really hadn't had a clue the whole time! Now here's the pictures. Sorry for the long intro but I had to write it down so I can remember!
We drove to Tonya's house in Corona Ca, on Saturday. We made a stop in Vegas but got off on the wrong exit and ended up eating at a wierd resturant inside a casino in CHINA town, neither of us even knew there was such a place in Vegas, but there is! it was awesome! ha gross food and being the only white people in the building...it was a fun memory! As soon as we got to Tonyas Derek got out of the car to give her a hug and accidently locked the keys in the car. 2hrs later at 3am and $99 later the locksmith man in his "rose red" convertable had our keys out and we went to bed. yeah that was another fun memory. I told the guy his way nice red mustang was awesome and he said "its rose red!" who seriously uses rose red to describe a car...anyway...a little bit of sleep later we all grabbed some delicious food from my favorite resturant in Ca ever, Farmer Boys, and Tonya took us to the port. It was so nice to get to see her, we cant wait til she moves close, and she was so sweet to spend her day helping us out!
This is us the first day/night on the ship. It was so fun to explore everything and the ship was so nice and fancy. We were like kids at Disney land!
Our first day out in the sun we couldn't help but get a little too much sun! it was beautiful! Nothing but clear blue water and clear blue skies...perfect!The second night on the ship before we got to Cabo was the Cruise elegant night for dinner. It was SO fun dressing up together. I actually had Derek with me when I was trying on dresses for the cruise but I just told him the dress was for a fancy date I was planning of Valentines day and he never figured out why I was really buying a fancy dress! To make it even funner I got my dress for $8 on clearance of clearance :) gotta love that right!
Our first day at Cabo we went Parasalling it was SO fun and suprisingly relaxing. I thought it would be so scary but when we got up in the air the view was gorgeous and we just sat back and relaxed. Then we got dropped off on the beach and went on a nice long walk back to the port. We had so many of the locals try and get us to buy little trinkets and things as we walked by. It broke my heart to see how poor these people were. Poor to us is so rich to them. We really are beyond blessed!
The second day at Cabo we went took a little boat out to Lovers beach and just walked around together
taking in all the beautiful scenery.
Below is what and where we ate every morning... how amazing is that! The food on the ship was so good and there were so many things to chose from. After being used to being the cook at our house this was by far one of my favorite things about our trip...having delicious food at my finger tips without any work! LOVED it!

Our last night on the ship. We had a table number we sat at with the same people and had the same 2 awesome servers. We were obviously the youngest at our table but we had lots of fun! Our servers Marvin and Mags were awesome, made sure I had a mr pibb waiting for me, and they teased me about how much of the bread I always ate! (it was vacation and I LOVE bread!) :)

Us packing up and then eating ice cream waiting to dock. The last night of our cruise the Terrible earthquake and Tsunami in Japan happened. We watched the breaking news while we packed our bags. at 6am the captain of the ship came over the speaker and announced that there were tsunami warnings for the Hawaiian islands and also for the California coast. They ended up closing the Port we were supposed to dock at so we had to wait on the ship (not a bad place to chill) until the port was safe. We felt blessed that we were able to get back safely! Tonya and Grandpa Jack came to pick us up, we went and got Grandma Nadine, and then Gramps took us out to one last buffet for lunch before we headed back :) It was so nice to get to see them, and we were so lucky to have all of Tonyas help getting us to and from the port, she's awesome!
After the long drive through the night, we were sooo excited to wake up to these 2 cute little girls. We missed them soo bad and found ourselves saying so many times on the cruise, "the girls would LOVE this!" Rylee had asked for a purple barbie but we goth her and Tay little mexican barbies and some awesome monkey shirts :) For super bonka Judy we found a cobalt blue (her favorite color) globe which she more then earned ha, 7 days with 2 energetic grand kids is lots of work!. Theres NO way we could have ever gone on this trip without her. I'm SO lucky to have such an awesome mom like her who is always so willing to be there for us. My girls love her and it was so nice to not feel like I ever had to worry about my girls while she watched them! She's amazing and we love her to pieces! I felt so blessed to have all the help I did getting this trip put together and for our good neighbors the Propertzis who took a few hrs of time with the girls so Judy could take a break, and Megan who came and helped lots too. This trip was so fun and a perfect "honeymoon!" I hope Derek felt as loved as I wanted this surprise to make him feel. He has worked so hard through our 3 1/2 yrs of being married and as school is hopefully about to start again I wanted him to have a great break before it starts, cause he deserved it! Anyway thanks again to everyone who helped it be possible for us to go. We are forever thankful! the end :)
